Through the process of photosynthesis, green
plants take carbon dioxide from the environment and transform it into more
complex organic compounds that constitute the different structures of the
plant cell.
As with any production process there is a maximum achievable performance in
the case of the cactus about 90% of dry biomass can be converted into biogas,
the remaining 10% becomes entrained sediment and water released by cellular
nopales.
The final pellet is eaten by worms and transformed in soil (humus) and worm
meat for further processing to flour.
